Celebrating Indigenous Cultures In-Person
Rutury Temay will share some short stories and talk about the ceremonies that have helped his Wixarika tribal people stay in harmony with Nature despite the chaotic times our world is going through.
Wixárika (Huichol pronunciation) are an Indigenous people of Mexico and the United States. They are best known to the larger world as the Huichol, although they refer to themselves as Wixáritari ("the people") in their native Huichol language.
The Wixarika tribal people are also known for their art and beading techniques. There will also be some items from his tribe for sale at the presentation.
